Last week, students from Cal Poly’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) visited the Walker Warner studio to present their thesis projects and learn more about the firm. Structured in a PechaKucha format, each participant shared 20 slides in 20 seconds, offering concise and compelling explorations of topics ranging from DarkSky initiatives and urban revitalization to the relationship between design and dance.
The event was part of Cal Poly’s inaugural Named Studio Program, which connects students with practicing architects and design professionals. Walker Warner has a longstanding relationship with the CAED community, with 14 Cal Poly alumni currently on staff.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to spend time with the next generation of designers and to support the curiosity, rigor, and fresh perspectives they bring to the discipline. We look forward to welcoming them back to the studio again soon.
“Our studio-based curriculum pairs design ambition with technical innovation.”
