Greg Warner Raises Funds for Hawai’i Preparatory Academy

The Hawai’i Preparatory Academy campus represents the single largest collection of structures designed by revered architect Vladimir Ossipoff and includes the beloved Davies Memorial Chapel. Originally constructed in 1966, the chapel is in need of restoration, including the ‘ōhi‘a wood bell tower that was removed after a near collapse. To help raise funds to fully restore and endow the Davies Memorial Chapel, Partner Greg Warner will be working alongside HPA to guide a sensitive and appropriate approach for the chapel’s restoration. If you want to learn more about the Davies Memorial Chapel fundraising efforts, please visit the Hawai’i Preparatory Academy website.

As a former HPA student, Greg says, “I didn’t realize that the buildings I passed through every day were designed by a master, but on some level, I recognized their value and felt their power. Today, Vladimir Ossipoff, the mid-century modern architect who designed the Chapel and HPA’s upper campus, is a primary source of inspiration for my own work as an architect. Davies Chapel, in particular, has influenced my professional path from the beginning and continues to be a muse.”

Greg shared in depth the personal and meaningful influence found through the work of Vladimir Ossipoff when he presented “Chasing Ossipoff” at Modernism Week.
