Huinawai

Hawaii

Perched on a lava field at the edge of the island, you’re fully immersed in the power of the Pacific.

Given this is island living, there’s no front door. Instead, you’re greeted by a tropical garden that guides you toward a village of hale, each oriented to capture the sensory experience unfolding throughout the terrain.

Coral-clad walls and light, airy interiors offer relief from the rugged terrain. The white hale punctuate the black lava rock, creating a striking yet understated contrast.

“Behind the quiet simplicity, every last detail has been thought through for comfort and function, everything works in harmony.”
Brian Lang, Project Manager, Walker Warner

The salt-laden breeze wafts through honey-hued lattice and sunlight streams through the paired windows for a home that feels unmistakably Hawaiian. And once a year, during the summer solstice, a moment of kismet—the pool’s orientation is fully realized as the sun sets centered over the water.
