Hale Huna has been recognized with a merit award by AIA Honolulu. As noted by the jury, “Honoring Vladimir Ossipoff’s original design, this residence respects the surrounding natural environment with a subtle, non-imposing, yet elegantly detailed project. An off-the grid approach truly demonstrates a strong commitment to caring for the land and place.”
AIA Honolulu’s Annual Design Awards are Hawaii’s oldest program of its type—held annually since 1958. Built and unbuilt projects submitted by local AIA members are judged on their merit by a distinguished jury of AIA architects. All project types are eligible for submission by members—from small home renovations to multi-million dollar resorts.
